Use of Since and For

Use of For in English Grammar

:- "Showing 'Duration of Time' " (For का प्रयोग किसी काम की टाइमिंग बताता है, कि कोई काम कितनी देर से हो रहा है) 

For Showing time in Hours, Weeks, Months, Years, Minutes, Seconds.

Example 1. He has been learning English for Two hours.

Here "Two Hours"" is fixed time of Duration. So For shows Fixed time of duration.

Example 2.  I have been living in Delhi FOR four Weeks.

Example 3. You have been talking on phone FOR five minutes.

(सरल शब्दों में कहा जाए तो FOR का उसे एक निश्चित समय को बताने के लिए होता है)

Other important Use of for

"Denotes who is intended to have or use something" (यानि आपके लिए कोई चीज होती है जैसे कोई आपको गिफ्ट देता है )

Eg. :- This for you.

Eg. :- My life is for my country.

"in exchange of something"

Eg. I will give you phone for 1000 rs.

"considering what can be expected from somebody/something" (अगर हम किसी से उम्मीद करते हैं वहां For का  इस्तेमाल होता है)

Eg. : That's too much work for you.

Eg. : You are tall for your age.

Use of Since in English Grammar:- 

Since Showing "Point of time" or "Definite Time" यानि जिस समय से काम शुरू हुआ हो |

Example 1. He has been learning English Since 2019. 

(इस उदाहरण से आप समझ गये होंगे कि Since का प्रयोग वहां किया जाता है जहाँ किसी समय की शुरुवात को बताया गया हो न कि कितने समय से कोई काम हो रहा हो)

Example 2. He have been living in Delhi since 2002.

Other use of since

"To show reason" *(किसी कारण को बताने के लिए भी since का इस्तेमाल होता है)

Eg. Since he was ill, he did not attend my birthday party.
